In 2026, our parents' records should also be visible in our e-Health profiles„

I expect the integration of our parents' health records into our profiles in the eHealth application to be completed next year. This was stated by the Minister of Electronic Governance Valentin Mundrov at the opening of the 7th International Congress of the Bulgarian Medical Union.

„"Just as our children's files were integrated into our profiles, we need to have visibility into those of our parents as well," the minister specified.

He pointed out that this is the tool with which, through modern technology, we can help our elderly parents receive the timely healthcare they need.

„"In the era of digital rights, citizens expect to control their data and receive services without unnecessary obstacles. With applications like eHealth, which is already used by thousands of Bulgarians, we are making healthcare personalized, such as notifications for examinations, access to the file from the phone, secure sharing with doctors," commented Valentin Mundrov to the medical profession.

He added that the goal of the executive branch is to build trust among the people, and for them to see that the state is working for them, not against them. "By providing citizens with the opportunity to check their prescription, their due preventive examinations, tests, and immunizations online, they not only save time, but also feel part of a modern system that values them," the minister added.

According to Mundrov, e-healthcare also ensures a fairer distribution of resources. He pointed out that it guarantees an even distribution of medicines in pharmacies in the country and has an impact on stopping abuses of referrals for specialized examinations. 

„"That is why centralized registers and nomenclatures were created in the National Health Information System, through which better control is implemented, such as the electronic prescription, which prevents duplication and ensures that medications reach where they are most needed," the Minister of e-Government also stated.
